In today's world, what exactly does "strategy" mean? Before the advent of the web and social media, that question was easier to answer. But as more and more people experience an organization or a brand via online mediums, things become much more complex.

Building a great site is not enough. Creating unique and compelling content and user experiences is only part of the equation. Weaving interactivity and social media components does not always guarantee success. Being strategic means anticipating trends-yet-to-occur and being positioned to ride the wave. To put it simply; being strategic is not optional; it is the only way to ensure you are prepared for whatever is next.

My experience, from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, has allowed me to hone my strategic skills and develop the ability to focus on the opportunities ripe for explotation. That may sound aggresive, but knowing when to be on the offense, dancing on the cutting-edge, and knowing when to be waiting in the wings for the right opporunity defines a strategy.

I'm currently working in the asset management industry as a online strategist. This industry is highly regulated, and having a strategic view and a plan that addresses those views is critical. If you would like to know more or have a conversation, feel free to contact me.
